What Is 200M XP in RuneScape 3?
If you've spent any time around high-level RuneScape 3 players, you've seen the badge of honour: 200M XP. It's the ceiling for a single skill, and reaching it in even one skill is a serious accomplishment. Here's what it actually means.
The 200 million XP cap
Every skill in RS3 stops counting experience at 200,000,000 XP. You can keep training past it, but the number won't go higher — 200M is the hard cap. Because level 99 only takes about 13 million XP, hitting 200M means training a skill roughly 15 times longer than it took to max it in the first place.
"Maxing" vs "200M"
These two terms get mixed up:
- Maxing a skill usually means reaching level 99 (or 120 for the skills that go that high).
- 200M XP is the absolute experience cap — far beyond 99.
So a "maxed" account has 99 in everything, while a player with several 200M skills has gone well past that in those skills.
The ultimate goal: 5.8B XP
Chasing 200M in every skill — sometimes called "max XP" — is one of the rarest feats in the game. With 29 skills each capped at 200M, that's a total of 5.8 billion XP (29 × 200M). Only a tiny number of players have ever done it. (That's a step beyond maxing total level, which only needs each skill at its level cap.)
Tracking your 200M grind
Because 200M takes so long, seeing steady progress keeps the grind bearable. A Codex profile shows how many of your skills have hit 200M, your XP-per-day pace, and a projected date for your next 200M based on how you've been training lately.
